In Australia, our products are supplied with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
IMY PTY LTD , trading as Smart Door Locks, provides the following warranty for its SmartDoorLocks branded products. This warranty is in addition to your rights under State and Federal legislation. Nothing in this document excludes, restricts, or modifies any applicable laws.

Warranty Coverage

Smart Door Locks warrants that each SmartDoorLocks branded lock covered by this document will be free from defects in materials and workmanship (including mechanical parts) for 12 months from the purchase date, subject to the limitations and exclusions below (“Warranty”).

  • Claims must be made as soon as a defect becomes apparent, and no later than one month after the defect or repair issue is identified.
  • Claims must include supporting documentation: invoice number, purchaser’s details, and description of the defect.
  • Products must be made available to Smart Door Locks for inspection and testing. If no defect is found, service, inspection, and testing costs will be charged to the purchaser.
  • If a defect covered by warranty is confirmed, Smart Door Locks will, at its discretion:
    • (a) Replace the product with the same or a comparable model (if the original is unavailable); or
    • (b) Repair the product or defective part free of charge; or
    • (c) Refund the purchase price.
  • Replacement parts may be refurbished or of equivalent quality if identical parts are unavailable.
  • Products presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type.

If purchased directly from Auslock:

  • Contact our customer service to initiate the claim and obtain a Sales Goods Return (SGR) number
  • Securely pack the product with a copy of your proof of purchase
  • Clearly mark the SGR number on the packaging
  • Return to our specified address within the warranty period

This warranty does not cover:

  • Products improperly installed or where installation instructions were not followed.
  • Use of batteries not specified by Smart Door Locks.
  • Misuse, abuse, neglect, accidents, or damage caused by external factors.
  • Modifications or repairs without written approval.
  • Use of non-genuine parts.
  • Fair wear and tear.
  • Exposure to corrosives, chemicals, salt spray, high humidity, or pollution.
  • Products not purchased new or not purchased by the original buyer.
  • Factory seconds or items with altered/removed branding or identification.
  • Costs related to removal, reinstallation, or associated labour.
  • Damage caused by leaking batteries.
  • Any indirect, special, or consequential loss or damage.
  • Circumstances beyond Smart Door Locks’ control.
  • No express warranties or representations are given other than those set out in this document.
  • Smart Door Locks may change product specifications and make improvements at any time

What’s covered under the warranty?

The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship (including mechanical parts) for 1 year from purchase. Electrical components (excluding batteries) are covered for 12 months.

How do I know if my lock is under warranty?

Your lock is under warranty if it’s within 1 year of purchase, hasn’t been tampered with, and you have proof of purchase. The security sticker must also be intact.

 

What if I don’t have my receipt?

Proof of purchase is required for warranty claims. If you purchased online, we may be able to locate your order with your email address or order number.

Can I transfer the warranty to a new owner?

No, the warranty only applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable to subsequent owners.
